Eight Legs

John TeagueComposition by John and Matt Teague

Little wild hair girl poisons herself

Metal wires and rusty barbs catch on her skirt

The Shepherd keeps an eye on his forgotten flock

But she lets the Devil in every time that he knocks

The shape shifters of South Anahuac

Amphetamine laced, shit-faced with tracks

The cook has medicine and the cook has friends

But the Devil’s playground has always been idle hands

There’s pain in the window of a trailer home

The powers out, the lights are off, no telephone

Four lives, four hearts with no goals

Each in unison, eight legs, no soul

Well the white trash never make it out alive

What makes them invisible is what makes us blind

And you can’t see the light with tin-foil on the window

In a cage we built for ourselves down a private road

There’s pain in the window of a trailer home

The powers out, the lights are off, no telephone

Four lives, four hearts with no goals

Each in unison, eight legs, no soul

She said, how can I escape this place

I don’t recognize the woman in that mirror’s face

And he said, if you want a fix darlin come over here

Cause the road goes on forever and the party never ends

There’s pain in the window of a trailer home

The powers out, the lights are off, no telephone

Four lives, four hearts with no goals

Each in unison, eight legs, no soul

There ain’t no soul
